Intentions

More powerful than you think
They there in a moment set
They make gem stones and dirt
They have no garbage

28,600 years ago they didn't have garbage they couldn't afford it
28,600,000 British pounds Burberry destroys last year
And we claim scarcity
They say they reclaim the energy
We rich have mostly garbage

Diamonds only value to me is the people it has killed in wars
Don't want 1

1000 years if we make it living off our land fills
Land was always full we only deplete it
Why maybe we aren't animals any more
They smart enough to focus only on the future
A natural selection

Thing is if we disappear we will know we were a bad choice
For now we can only hope
The evidence unsuporting
With one selection a gem set
We don't even have a definition for end

The Idea of People

Moving a million miles per hour doesn't seem strange
Fluid traveling three miles an hour makes you smile more astounding
Been around longer than most
No one has an idea of people

What it is we are doing at a million miles an hour
How we stand and walk and stay mostly together
Pieces of everything is pieces of us
We search for boundaries where there are none

You have more bacterial cells you carry than human
This is what makes people possible moving a million miles per hour
Three hundred miles an hour your smile becomes important to me
I recognize some people more than others deeper in the file

That there is a reason there is no doubt
Outside and inside like parallel universes of almost no relation
We have limited means to express the unlimited inside of us
We start with our own idea of people

You are a flora
Of a particular region,  habitat, and geological period
Given enough time would there have been one type of dinosaur?
There is one type of us

What we see as natural is the least natural thing about us
Why would there be more galaxies than we can count
Because there are more universes than we can count

They're made of the same things
They would recognize each other
Moving a million miles per hour doesn't seem strange
A system designed only for short term gain astounding

The story of people makes sense one way
That there are more people
The dinosaurs not making any new records
That they had enough time to think of planetary defense
They would have

We know better than we do anthropocene
They did as good as they knew mesozoic

The Morden World

So many people no one
Things didn't seem done
In the seventies we all knew we were going somewhere
Realizing leaded gas was a bad idea seems obvious
Seemed fine

We've come a long way
Things can seem done today
Great faiths agree on little
The dark heart of man a natural selection
We've won

We're super predators
Just need a question answered not searched
AlGore-rhythm unbreakable
Unsustainable super predators are only us
We make it sound like a category

Predation brought us here
We share a common ancestor with everything alive
In together we can go out now
When they meet jaguar and lion they see they belong
All those like us are gone I hear their tears in my genome

Too many people around here think we are special
That God will save us
That technology will save us
That they can not be one

We have a culture in the modern world
We believe things we can not know
Too many talk of eternal life and are sad at funerals
Too many still prey upon others

What if the world just needed you
A multiple variable problem
Seven point six billion now
The future is about small things
Jesus comes tomorrow great today we plan for the seventh generation

We have not even started
Taken as many steps back as forward
They said history was over
A new York attitude
They were wrong

They say we are postmodern a long time ago
Dark ages were brighter than some
A new arrangement of words needed to mean even less
Great battles will be fought with pen
We spill too much blood but even more ink

That started one time one place
We have this culture
Nothing comes after today
Tomorrow never arrives
It is modern and always will be for we have no good excuses left

Lobsters

There are biological reasons called equilibrium
No other hunts for trophies
We find ourselves in side out side
Neurobiology we share

Talk about how we are different
See how we are more
What time is it on Mars?
We know

Measured classified misunderstood
Reason to have something
Must
Or it is like us whimsical

Logical creations of crustaceans
We don't have to be
The chemical analysis is not to debate
Talk about how we are the same

Mostly able
More capable than compromising
When we see what we are
We can invite ourselves to be more

Your  deep dark intellectual web dishonest
We share chemistry with lobsters who have no want to be more
So you don't want to be more?
For all your work what good conclusion

That seem to tell you what you want to hear
Sounds very smart but it is stupid

Granny

Never far
It was a formal affair
Like Apple pie and baseball

There was a method
She was the party or it was her
Things could be a different way

A fan of baseball sees the potential
Even where no one else did
Everything a matter of time and in its place

Grandma

We only miss what is gone
Sit and think you see certain things a first time
It is hard to keep people together

We were all ways just together
I had come along late most of the stories older than me
They told them around her table seemed mostly at 3am

Figured you all had a grandma like mine
Thought we would all just be together forever
People leave and new ones come

There are less since she been gone
We are not drawn to each other by her anymore
It is the material difference to this new world

Different I guess
But you see we come together around each other
Keystones members of our families

Different I knew
Really something to see had it not just been everyday
Like getting ready for Christmas in January

Zenica Brown

1

They knew what to do.  They were children of war.   When you go to war you never arrive you just draw closer.   You live in war.   If you stay home sick from school they still have school every child learns.   You believe war is distant yet just there.   War rages like wild fire.

War never leaves you.   Long I had been able to ignore.   More people are confused than not.   Children of war learn costly lessons and they taught me.   We stood in the central hallway.  No one spoke.  They had spoke using a word that sounded like grenade.   They used it to describe something much larger.   The Third Corp had done something.

The night before we walked home from a party that could not end til curfew did.   We couldn't be loud but we could be together.   If you were out after six you were out till six in the morning.   A grenata fell on people in the streets one night in Tuzla.  We couldn't go out for a time.   Things had been much worse and before that things were rather nice.

We heard them in Dornji Vakuf; something was almost expected to arrive.   Zenica is one third city,  one third factory, and one third park. These shells fell where they did like a dice roll on the valley.   That day they seemed to hit the park.   It wasn't a great park as anyone from Zenica will tell you,  money all went to Sarajevo in 1984.  But now they could see stars and fish had returned to the river.   Things were getting better.

Week or two later at night same thing,  but they hit the factory.   The other volunteers gathered in my room.   I had been the longest.   As each fell I said I'm sure that was the last one.   Shelling is like the weather.   Nine this time across the balcony we could see the factory.   Seemed so far somehow and now close. Guns get hot, even when the soldier gets no rest the guns do, to cool.

We a house of expats were the children.   It was how we were helpful.  We saw things like children.  This should be easy to fix.

2

Things are seen from different points of view.   My friend told me a story of how he got a job guarding a British base in Bosnia.   Him and some friends who had been brought on the base to gaurd fuel that was being stolen.   They gave them a gaurd house with sky satellite television and all the modern convienence of the NATO forces.   This was like being in another dimension and suddenly returning to glimpse where you came from.   It was as joyous a story.  They were in shock they could not do the job.   They had a night to remember.

Later that night a British contractor told a story how his fuel was stolen at the same base the same night.   Those guards got in trouble.  Years with no electricity.   That contractor in his own shock.   These worthless guards and ruthless thieves he described this terror.

It was not easy to figure out they were talking about the same night.   Harder still to write a story of them both.   Polarized I don't think they saw each other as they passed.   I feel it is a funny story like most in Bosnia .

Things get worse and no one is ever prepared for that
