Erie

Strange the way life takes hold of you
Everyday this unencumbered mystery
Millions around hundreds
Questions often present themselves
Others never leave

Did I see that right? Saw this perspective
The side or opposition
I am unable to contemplate the depth of the shallowest
Great lake far and wide

Upon her shores I often find myself
Never alone not always together
At the shore the land stops  and contemplates transformation
Young and old shifting or stable

There are more in between and  many are the finbacks
Sought until found lacking
More a question of belief
You can chase anything you believe in

Poke the ground stop at the shore assess
Everything here for something
You somehow
The sun can kill you can not live without her

Not contradiction rather subtlety
Good and bad in every ounce created
Drops visit the land but live Erie to the ocean
Sunset and two kayaks pass
I wonder where they're going know what they do

Pools of ice and time and mystery; Erie
Not a life guard I  find myself awatch

Words

What I think they mean
What you think they mean
What they think they mean
The single celled meme

Anything we do is miracle
The millions of reasons we find ourselves here
Hugh got on a boat at 15 an indentured slave
He worked his debt off in a few years

This was an American story
He was smart we know somehow not ripped off
Two years working the Philadelphia ship yards seems fair price even today
Enlisted in the Pennsylvania line from stoney point to Yorktown

No gatling no canister no repeating
Lucky to hit the side of the barn
They went with bayonets and the British saw their mettle
Bodica legends ablaze

I arrived earlier I've arrived later
The Manx farmers didn't know they needed a green grocer on five points
They saw no reason beyond their idyllic reality
They stand on the hill no more and find they are thought of still in Collinwood

They have more use than I imagined
Evoke the drift wood upon Erie
Never needed to arrive but here we are
Omnibus all those ancestors

Each as individual as the geometry allows
I could tell you explicitly what I mean
Or prose they never wonder
French Canadian emerging from the deep forest

The Celt always coming and going
Each man his own horizon

Another

Somethings lost are found another time
In the best way
Others cannot be undone
The story has an end

Parts are left behind through false walls
Void is the most of these
The World is flat in a sense
Or more the shape irrelevant

The large both ways point and wave
Say hello then goodbye
Virtual pairs hawking radiation
Biased evaporation of black holes

The middle way we find another
Our way of seeing
Blinded by many things
More we do not see

One regret need not find another
What seemed so was not
Positive
Negative

Sometimes we are neutral
Feels separate because we feel attraction
Repulsion we just leave
We lose our boundaries no border marked another

We make our own difficulties
To feel what we do not find
Seperation differentiation another way
Where you fit is no puzzle

Everywhere and anywhere
Fundamental particles of relative size
The shape not the defining property
What attracts you connects current flows

A false quantum vacuum perhaps
We tunnel through walls
Messages go away and never return
Yet traces in our neurons

Destruction is Biased
Creative is information
A well to love
A will to live

Another way of looking
Another way of feeling

Large

There is a finite number of ways things can be
The largest number in your mind can hold still adds one
Uniqueness is a matter of distance
Hard to say which part of the universe we have been found

Certainly seems to know us and we seem to matter
What other part of the universe would you be
A resturant managed from below
There are many seats of which one yours

A pleasant view in what you are sharing
Here too much there too little
Difference only this matter of distance
Long wide tall deep further than you can go

Large beyond what you can fill
More out past where we are to the top
Completed everything needed
More than what you want
Everyday you can become

They say the electrons have properties not identities
Interchangeable yet their story is never done
Except there is something else they know
All that you can endure can as well add one

The end comes in everything done
These electrons mine we see none

Wyatt

What can be accomplished in a day?
An entire world can change
I have seen it happen

Words don't come they flee and contract
Have less beauty
You don't have problems like me

Tough little guy my second cousin
What we most in my family have in common
Good to know you

Eight Cylinders

When you drive at full capacity
you know it is not something you have done
Fourteen wheels and eight cylinders
We have escape velocity

You get by with six and struggle on four
What is missing known and felt and unknown too
But not that realization driving all out of the potential
For good bad middle everything

Now as is then but older
Universe doesn't think you'll live long anyways
Twenty years or forty seconds
Some numbers are better written

Seven wheels four cylinders
We both had 8 but we did not drive sixteen
Took and take turns for each other
Seven wheels 8 cylinders we had certain responsibilities

There are so many less as you get old
To know something is not to create something
They are things we find

Learn your capacity
I will get by
There are things I know that would make life better
Yet there are more of them I remain unaware

I try to drive to capacity
Two partners pass with ease
Relative hard to know another's view

It was a good run then
More ahead then behind maybe
Something best in us
Whatever the quantity enough

Know your best
Try and be it too

We Gonna win

The last ten seconds something new
This visceral new muscle memory: we are going to win
The first time I knew

I've been a part of different "we"s, but this time it was my home
No more kardiac moments for this season
Not a curse yet a burden released

Romans 5:3-4
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
