Ship at See

There is more universe than anyone could need
Extravagant luxurious bountiful
A quality from quantity
There are many solar systems
No news good the best easy to ignore

Boundless extremist expansive not expensive
Welkin welcome as end a beginning souls be
In one hundred simulations a narrow gate ahead
We have linguistic memory cow beef pig pork
Posh or bourgeoisie

The information age
We have lost more than we will ever have
We collect data that piles up
Where you are from is either a question of faith
Or you don't really know

We know we are in this together
We know what science teaches compassion
We know what religion teaches compassion
Spooky action at a distance
That is a scientific term

The basic questions we may not find relevant
They are already there
Why science teaches compassion
Why religion teaches compassion

A ship at sea with no tolerance for the environment will not survive
The word better if you like pick others there are many
Pity sympathy concern fellow feeling
Vocabulary not as important as the design of your hypothesis
Old French again perhaps

Religion heal yourself the fancy of the court
But we concede that they surely talk of compassion
Which word we can leave behind for which kind
They both talk of a verb circumstance that leads to action

This poem is more personal
This is what science teaches me compassion
This is what religion teaches me compassion
This is how I feel
        a ship at see curious
